The POWER Committee’s mission is to contribute to the creation of respectful, equitable workplaces, dispel industry myths around gender roles and increase women’s participation in the construction industry.

The goal of the POWER Committee is to utilize existing framework from various organizations and programs to assist our Western Canada LIUNA members navigate and remove barriers. 

As well as assist LiUNA signatory contractors create respectful and diversified workplaces, increase workplace inclusivity and gender equity.

POWER intends to use our influence to create social change that will contribute to the removal of obstacles that have affected women’s entry and retention in the construction industry.
